Historic replica galleon Galeon Andalucia docks in Cornwall for first time

The impressive Galeon Andalucia, a full-size replica of a 16th-century Spanish galleon, has sailed into Penzance Harbour for the first time as part of its 2025 European tour.

Built in Spain in 2010, the Galeon measures around 55 meters long and features six decks and seven masts. It closely replicates the vessels that once connected Spain with the Americas and Asia during the golden age of exploration.

A Journey Through Time
The ship has already covered over 100,000 nautical miles and visited major international ports including London, New York, Shanghai, and Manila. Now in Cornwall, it will be taking part in local celebrations including Penzance’s Mazey Day, part of the annual Golowan Festival.

Public Visits and Tickets
The Galeon will be open to the public from Wednesday 26 June to Saturday 29 June. Opening hours are 10 am to 8 pm daily. Ticket prices are:

• Adults: £12

• Children (ages 5 to 10): £6

• Family (2 adults and up to 3 children): £30

• Under 5s: Free.

Step Aboard History
The Galeon Andalucia serves as a floating museum, manned by an international crew. Visitors can explore the ship’s decks, living quarters, and learn about life at sea in the 1500s. The crew shares real stories from their voyages, offering a unique insight into historical maritime travel.

After leaving Penzance, the Galeon will continue its tour through France, Germany, and the Netherlands before heading across the Atlantic later this year.
